Mountain waited on the pacemaker to the final eighth, when he sent bis mount along and under a vigorous ride got up in the final strides. Nannie J., off well in motion, had no mishaps and ran her race. The others had poor chances from where they got off, but Frank B. ran below expectations. Scratched 36342 Meggs, 118. Liska wore down the pacemaker on tho stretch turn and, coming away in the final eighth, won with something in reserve. Quincy swung wide in the stretch, losing ground,4 but finished with a rush. All but left he made up ground quickly while going down the backstretch, but was cut of while rounding the far turn. Shaw found an opening at the head of the stretch and sending his mount through along the rail, came away in the final eighth and won with plenty to spare. Flop ran a good raco and caught Brandy Smash in the final stride. Tho latter, favored by a flying start, showed early speed, but could not withstand the winners bid.
