Montana Peeress was lucky, had clear sailing and forced tho pace throughout, but was tiring at the end. Matin Bell finished witk a rush and was probably best, but was crowded back at the start and worked a rough trip. Chappie was always prominent and held oh unexpectedly well. Claudator also went well. Dr. Bernays closed up sUadily under pressure throughout and will improve, but wants a longer route. BriBsac was crowded back in the stretch. Nonie had no chance and was shuttlecocked out of it. Winner Blk. f, by Midlothian Twinkle trained by W. B. Jennings. . Went to post at 2 :!0. At post 2 minutes. Start bad. Won easily ; second driving. Nigrette secured a lucky start, forced the pace throughout, came away fast when challenged, was easily best and is much improved. Dotterel, away poorly, mads up ground in the first quarter, looming up dangerously when a furlong out, but was tiring right at tho end and is best in mud. Ignacio, nearly left, closed a big gap and, but for swerving at the end was easily second best. Quatre went hopelessly wide on the first turn, failed to stay and was evidently not keyed up for a long journey. Kickumbob had no mishaps and was not good enough, still he ran a dull race and his race of the day before possibly affected his speed. The others were beaten off. Ovorweights Nigrette, 1 pound. Ned Dennis was skillfully handlod and reserved to the stretch, where he made good in game fashion. Jim Gore II. ; got away running, made the most of his advantage, fought out the issue very gamely and ran the best race of his career here. Mocorito, away slowly, forced the pace and held on unexpectedly well. Sea Lion tired somewhat at the end after a hard early effort to outrun the pacemaker and did not run his race, Sugden, practically left, closed a bie gap. Assessment ran a bad race and failed to stay today. Scratched S6643Qniz. 107; 36681 Pat Morrissey, 107; 36732 Louwelsea, 106. Corrected weights Mission. 102. Ned Dennis, show, 4 to 5. Sylvia Talbot 0 ran to the front in the first quarter and practically cantered from there on and was much tho best. Stilicho, easily best of the others, closed up with a tremendous rush in the stretch and will beat good ones later on. He appeared big and unfit. The Owl ran a dull race and under tho whip from the start ho developed scant speed. St, Winifride, easily third best, was easing up at tho end and is still short. He will run best over the pasteboard Oakland track. Blue Miracle is improving. Hudson is a non-stayer. Iras will do better lator on. Stuyve away poorly, rushed into the lead in tho first quarter and made his own easy pace slow enough to just last the journey. Milas, on which Connell delayed too long about making hie effort, was gaining on him at tho end and was best. Horton was lucky and given a vigorous ride, but failed bacauso he was not quite fit and was tiring perceptibly in the closing strides.
