Jarretiere dOr. pocketed and knocked off his stride on the stretch turn, closed up fast at the end. Jim Hale, away slowly, worked a rough journey, was closing up like a flash at the end when suddenly compelled to pull up and was best. Esherin was also badly messed about and repeatedly interfered with. Mildred Sehultz forced the pace and stood a long stretch drive gamely. Tower of Candles went a fast half, then Quit. Orfeo, after meeting x serious interference when a furlong out, finished fast and was wearing the winner down at the end and i was best. Onjx II. sustained his spued unexpectedly well and under a weak ride was swerving badly j in the stretch. Gus Lanka is evidently best in mud, but got away poorly and finished fast. Start good. Won easily ; second the same. Nones trailed the first division to the far turn, whor he moved up and, taking the lead when straightened for home, , secured an advantage, which he retained without much effort to the finish. He is the highest class f stayer in training here and never was better. Bessie McCarthy ran the beet race of her career here and I came from far back with brilliant speed in the last quarter. Siddons, in wonderful form and a proved a stayer, was outrun for the first mile and. under a drive throughout, was closing up very strongly at the , end. Articulate made the running for the first mile at a terrific pace and was a good horse for one and a an oichth miles, but his weight and the pace were stopping him in the last furlong. He is evidently in n brilliant form. Corrigan followed the pacemaker closely for nine furlongs and then failed to stay. Marque was palpablv outclassed. El Rio Shannon went a fast seven furlongs. Won easily; second the same. Arabo made the running under a pull to the stretch, where he drew away fast and won easily at the end. Durazzo, away badly and mrssed about in an effort to place him, finally gave it up after racing the winner a fast middle half and was probably short. Gaviotas bad race was foreshadowed by the betting. Away in front and always well up, she unexpectedly failed to stay and was palpably short. Polonins ran a good race and will give a good account of himself over a longer distance of ground. Arabo, show, 1 to 3. Durazzo, show, 1 to 4. Gaviota, show, out. SIXTH RACE 1 Mile. Bill Massie gradually improved his position from a poor start and closing up fast in the last quarter caught the pacemakers and won out in the last stride. Sweet Tooth outstayed Illowaho, both forcing a fast pace from the start, and appeared like a certain winner when a furlong out and was probably caught napping at the end. Illowaho beat the barrier and made the most of his advantage, but failed to stay after being excessively UBed in the first six furlongs. Ada N. went well and was closing up strongly at the end.
