He is a qnick breaker and forced the pace to the stretch, where he finished easing up. Rowena secured a lucky start, followed the winners pace closely and ran a game race. Ambrita got away poorly fUud was rushed up to the leaders in a twinkling, then carried very wide and interfered with on the stretch turn and ran a high class race. Samar, a very handy looking filly, closed up very fast in the Ijist quarter. Lord Wadswbrth is highly tried, but got away badly. Precious Stone, show, 1 to 4. Rowena, show, evens. Golden Light,, away very badly, made up many lengths. The Pride fell out of the race early, but closed up fast in the last half. Siddons, ridden hard throughout, trailed to the stretch, where he wore down iho field fast. Lord Badge, away badly, trailed for the first half, then moved up too soon, ran a phenomenal quarter on the turn and, being weakly ridden in the stretch, was a good horse badly managed. Claude forced the pace for the major part of the journey and held on remarkably well. El Rio Shannon waB outclassed. Articulate quit in the last furlong. The Fretter seems to havo lost his good form.
