Seize beat tho barrier and finally scored after forcing the pace throughout under a tremendously vigorous ride. Tommy Knight tired right at the end after appearing all over a winner when a furlong ont. Pure Dale securad a lucky start and was prominent and promising until a wide stretch turn temporarily lost her several lengths At the end she was swerving, but was closing up fast under a bungling ride. Vigoroso went in improved form. Gus Lanka closed a gap from a poor start. Gyros also closed a big gap from a bad start. Anvil quit after going a fast half. Box Wood was flatfooted at tho start, but went after the leaders and made up ten lengths in a jiffy, went to the front in the stretch cantering and is evidently a crackerjack. Midway got away running and made the most of the advantage, but succumbed easily to the winner after going a fast quarter. She was high and will improve into a good one. Ravelena, which was nearly loft, trailed to the stretch and came along fast at the end. Emil displayed but little speed. Sofita, another good looker, went a good first . quarter and tired. Esherin worked a rough journey, being repeatedly interfered with, but finished through the last quarter like a good one and was much the best, dossil sustained his superior speed gamely and is a greatly improved colt. F. W. Brode was handicapped by tha soft going and after forcing the paco to the stretch tired perceptibly and can do much bettor. Nigrette took the longest way and was poorly ridden throughout. Dr. Bernays, away badly, trailed far out and came with a belated rush at the end. Ulloa was always well up and ran a very good race in such company. Oro Viva closed up with a rush in the stretch and was probably second best. Modicnm raced in the deep going throughout and was badly interfered with at the end. Onyx II. tired at the end. J. H. Irene Lindsoy indulged Tower of Candles with the lead to the stretch, where she worked to the front and finished with something in reserve. Mocorito, away poorly and in the worst going, made up much ground nnd finished with a rush. Bright Phoebus, always in contention, appeared to sulk in tho stretch, but finished fast under tho whip. Tower of Candles disliked tho soft going and tired badly in the last quarter. Hainanlt was always outrun and can do better. Diderot is out of placo in sprints.
