Won easily; second the same. Waterton, under a good ride, took kindly to the sloppy going and, holding his field safe all the way, won with something in reserve. Little Tommy Tucker closed up fast in the stretch run and ran inmuch improved form. Assassin moved up while rounding the stretch turn, but tired in the final sixteenth. Battus, as usual, showed early spoed. Deponan and St. Sidney ran nowhere near their true form. Scratched 57263 Dr. Lovejoy, 102. Ovrw,eights Assassin, 1 pound; Waterton, 4; St. Sidney, 5. T. was much the best, wout to the front oarly and simply cantered all the way. Dr. Carr had no mishaps and rau his race. Meggs closed up strongly in the final eighth when it was too late.
