Lady Gallantry wa, aDDeared likn tho winner almost throughout, bnt suffered from a weak ride and crowding in the last few strides Halver ran n eood race and was suddonly improved. Diamante was bumped at the start und closed a gap in tho last half on the extreme outsirfu and was ruunine fastost at the end. Bell Reed was badly interfered with in the stretch. Annie Mario trailed the two pacemakers and appeared like winning easilv when a furlong out. bnt succumbed to tho winners challenge after a sharp drive. Marelio, from a poor start, improved his position steadily and finished out the last quarter with a rush and is much improved. Stella Perkins was always prominent and held on in improved fashion. Grand 8achem, about dno, led for six furlongs under a pull and sustained his speed well in a long stretch drive. He can easily beat this kind when good. Dark Secret was handicapped by the stiff going, but ran in improved form. Forto was forced to a wide turn, bnt was wearing tho leaders down at tho end. Slave, away flatfooted. went into tho load while running in deep going in the first quarter, forcd a terrific pace and came away eamely in the last sixteenth when strongly challenged and is ovidently a crackerjack. Byron Rose disliked the cuppy going and was in difficulties early, but stood a long drive stoutly and was closing up at the end with a rush. Kenilworth followed the winners paco closely and at six furlongs appeared like tho winner, but tirnd right at the end. His race was a fine one. Barklyite, away slowly and outrun to the stretch, closed np like a whirlwind in the bad going. Lady Kent failed to stay. Bragg was well up for six furlongs. Overweights Slave. S pounds. Peter J. is above tho average, worked into the lead from a poor start and drew away strongly in the last furlong. Shell-mount forced tho pace to the stretch, where ho wont unnecessarily wide, tired and fell away, but came again right at the end. Ho is very good and above average caliber. Oro Viva, away poorly, worked a rough journey in the worst going and, swerving badly under a weak ride, was unlucky to lose second place. The Prido was outrun and can do better. Mexicana got off last on the extreme outside, but raced into a long and winning lead on the first turn and sustained her brilliant speed gamely throughout and was best today. Divina has improved, but was handicapped in slow going, was reserved to the stretch where she closed up with a rush and was wearing the winner down fast. Ada- N. raced into prominence from a bad start and appeared, like winning on the stretch turn, but swerved badly when called on in the last quarter. Frank Woods, shut off at the start, closed a great gap. Ignacio worked a rough journey under a lethargic ride and can do much bellei.
