Catnello was lucky and always prominent, finished with a rush and at the weights was probably best. Katherine Ennis led by a wide margin most of the route and was beaten out .only m the last few strides. Legal Maxim ran a good race and outstayed the others. Hilary and Light Ball both closed gaps from a bad start. Rinaldo II. was pulled up at the start and made up twenty lengths on the leaders. He ran the best race ever run over this track by two-year-olds, and has worked phenomenal trials. He forced the pace from the start and was eased up in the last quarter. It was a remarkable performance from a timo standpoint. Military Man, another good one. put up a game effort against bitr odds ind under punishment was coming on gamely and fast at the end. Young Pepper must be use ful, ran will and is promising. Celebrant, which is supposed to be Jennings best, has worked a half in 0:47 flat, broke green and was practically left. . Toledo, show, out. Won easily; second the same-Fossil indulged the pacemaker to the far turn where he forged into the lead, gamely holding his advantage thereafter and winning going away fast. Sleeping Child went unexpectedly well, was well in hand to the stretch where he made good in game fashion and ran the best race of his career. Peaceful was choked and hauled about in a pocket for the first half, appeared the probable winner in the stretch but unexpectedly failed to stay and can do better. Forte trailed and was outrun early as usual, made a wide stretch turn and finished like a whirlwind. Stunts, away badly, worked a rough journey on his own courage and was going fast in the last quarter and was Evidently best at the weights. Lone Fisherman made the running for seven-furlongs and tired but displayed unexpected early speed. Searcher ran unkindly throughout and is in poor form. Dupont, away badly, raced into prominence in the first six furlongs and tired. Grand Sachem had no mishaps and failed to stay. Rim Rock retired early. Ed Lilburn, reserved behind the leaders and lucky throughout, finished very fast. Gorgalete closed up a big gap from a bad start, finishing like a flash. Lizzie Rice, away flatfooted, displayed brilliant speed but tired at the end after excessive use. Action was always outrun. Ball Room Belle ran a bad race but is a delicate doer, and trains off quickly. Andrew Ring favors a longer distance.
