Versifier showed the most speed, raced Musical Slipper to defeat easily and drew away in the stretch run. Foley rode the winner out and took no chances. Barkelmore saved a lot of ground at the turn into the homestretch, where he cut the corner and finished gamely when it came to a drive. Musical Slipper outgamed Double O. in a sharp drive. Lindsey nursed her along for the first half with something in reserve, came fast through the stretch and won going away. Ailyar began slowly and was in close quarters for the first three furlongs, came wide at the turn into the homestretch and finished going fast. Lady Brockway outgamed Alpaca in the final sixteenth.
