Declaimer made the run- j ning for six furlongs and stood a long stretch drive gamely. Donu finished fast and was i wearing the leaders down at the end. Frank Pearce looked fit and ran in improved form. Yellowstone failed to stay after racing prominently and in close quarters to the stretch. Flo Culver was closing up fast. Won easily; second the same. Rapid Water outbroke the field and led unextended throughout with plenty in reserve. -Toledo put up a high class race after getting away poorly and going unnecessarily wide on the turn, and finished very fast and gamely. Military Man, a stayer, gained a half dozen lengths in the run through the stretch and will give the best an argument over a longer distance of ground. Bombardier and H. L. Organdie, which fell away early, raced a brilliant middle half into a winning lead and easing up at the end was much the best. Peter J. was always prominent and went very wide on the turn, losing four lengths, but finished fast, however, and beat out the tiring Money Muss in the last stride. Learoyd forced the pace for three and a half miles and ran a game race, but was outclassed by the winner. Artilla trailed the field throughout and was evidently not fit. Hainault, in great form and always prominent, saved many lengths by a close stretch turn, which advantage won for him. Mimo followed the pacemaker closely, but was carried out on the turn losing several lengths, then finished gamely under a weak ride and was probably best. Rag Tag, vigorously ridden, was going fastest of all at the end, but was carried hopelessly wide on the turn. Glendenning made the running for five furlongs, tiring right at the end. Ned Dennis, away slowly, closed a great gap in the last half. Kittie Kelly went well, but was out of place.
