Brookwood Belle was off running and displayed the most speed all the way. Comora ran her race at the post. She was prominent in all the breakaways and was probably best. Montholon was responsible for the delay at the post by continually wheeling around. He showed speed, but tired when it came to a drive. Foghorn ran a quarter in three false breakaways. Battiste waited with him until in the last quarter before making a move, then brought him on with a rush at the end and was going away at the finish. Nearest showed a lot of speed, but tired in the last sixteenth. She was short and the race should improve her. Jerry Hunt was lame when going to the post, but ran a fairly good race. Reducer came wide at the turn into the homestretch Aimless finished on the inside and appeared to have won by a good head, but was overlooked by the judges. Kings Lady was never a contender. Terra Incognita tired when called on. Invictus set the early pace on sufferance. Spurs swerved to the extreme outside in the stretch run. All but Lee Bruno went a quarter to a false break.
