Little Jack Horner outbroke the others, showed the most speed all the way and was never in trouble. Fuller took him the short route and saved ground all the way. Goudy ran a good race, but was under a drive all through the last quarter. Suburban Queen finished " .fast and got-ihird-placeun. thcJastr-stride. Louisfe-Gollier-was-cutof-soon- af terthestartj and came wide at the turn into the homestretch. Senator Morrison was pulled up soon after the start. MollieT. tired in the stretch drive. Went to post at 3:02. At post 6 minutes. Start good. Won driving; second easily. Elwood was quickest to get to going and opened up a winning lead in the first furlong, but was tiring at the end and driving to the limit to stall off Beneficent. The latter finished fast and was wearing Elwood down and would have won in a few more strides. Myron Dale came wide at the turn into the homestretch and fought it out with Don oHigh all through the last furlong. Ugly Ben bolted to the outside at the turn into the homestretch. Forehand was green at the post, lunged when the barrier went up and was as good as left and made up a lot of ground while rounding the far turn, but tired. Elwood, show, 3 to 1. Won easily; second driving. John A. Scott ran as if he outclassed his field, went to the front easily in the first furlong, set all his own pace and won under restraint. Avoid saved ground all the way and was doing her best at the end to stall off James F. The latter stumbled when the barrier went up and had to go around his field at the far turn to get up and finished fast under a drive. Sarah Maxim was cut off at the half mile post and knocked out of it. Hedge ran out at the stretch turn. Topsoil tired as if short and the race should improve him. Judge Himes was never dangerous. Pericles ran a fairly good race. Scratched Postmaster Wright. 105. Overweights Lady Churchill, 3 pounds. John A. Scott, show, 3 to 10. Avoid, show, 2$ to 1. James F., show, 3 to 1. Thane was easily the best today, carried Kenova fast while going up the hill and came again when Kenova challenged in the last furlong and was going away at the finish. Kenova ran her race, was off well and had no mishaps. Stratton showed early speed, but tired in the final quarter. Water Edge was short and should improve from this race. Won easily; second the same. Lord Radnor was easily the best. Heider rated him along for the first mile, wore Montanic down in the last half, and brought him away at the end. Montanic fenced well and made a promising debut, but tired and the race may improve him. Ceylon put up a good effort and was easily the best of the others. It was practically a two-horse race all the way. Tennison fell over the first jump. Ada S. G. bolted out of the course after taking the first jump. Ohnet ran out after taking the sixth jump. Delia Ostrand displayed the most speed all the way, set a fast pace and had enough left to stall off a challenge from Squanto. The latter had to go around the leaders to get up and appeared like the winner at the furlong post, but tired in the last sixteenth. John Coulter came wide at the turn into the homestretch and finished fast. Lacrimae was pinched off at the furlong post when going well. Farmer Jim ran a good race. Paul Creyton can do better. Scratched 37729 Ailyar, 103; 36252 Birdwood, 97. Delia Ostrand, show, 4 to 5. Squanto, show, 4 to 1. John Coulter, show, 2 to 1. Lacrimae, show, 4 to 5.
