Race King and Pleasant Memories raced to gether all the way and the former outgamed the filly in the final drive. Bov J Blup rnn "A poorly. "Went to post at 4:00. At post 2 minutes. Start good. Won easily; second the same. Gould outclassed his company and it was only a case of his being fit. He handled the weight in good stye, had his going all the way and finished next to the outside rail. Gibson Light ran a good race at the weights and was easily the best of the others. Alma Girl came fast in the stretch and outlasted J. A. Warner in a hard drive. The latter performed well for his first out this season. Willard J. tired in the stretch and was eased up when beaten. Captain Conover and Concertina performed poorly. Winner B. c, by Henry of Navarre Souriante trained by J. Whalen. Went to post at 4:30. At post 2 minutes. Start good. Won handily; second the same. Sourire received the benefit of a judicious ride and that won for him. Gannon picked his going all the way and the colt finished gamely under a hard ride catching The Brown Monarch in the last fifty yards. The latter forced the pace in the deep going next to the rail and the effort told in the last sixteenth, and Fisher could not put up a strong finish. Interlude, is speedy and liked the going, but was not up to a hard race and should improve. George R. Harrison was under a drive in the first half and was eased toward the end. St. Roche did not run to expectations. Overweights George R. Harrison, 1 pound. Sourire, show, 3 to 5. The Brown Monarch, show, 1 to 4. Interlude, show, 2 to 1. Winner Ch. c, by Golden Garter Stella trained by A. C. McCafferty. Went to post at 4:55. At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won handily; second driving. Star and Garter showed the most speed and forced a fast pace, was at home in the going and stood a stretch drive gamely, but was tiring and all out at the end. Carroll D. ran a good race, but was weakly handled in the final drive. Imperious was a keen contender all the way, but was in the deep going next to the rail all through the stretch and tired at the end. Lord Advocate was squeezed out right after the start, but showed speed and ran well for over five furlongs. Brisk is rounding to. He was in a pocket in the stretch and had to come around the other horses. This effort told and he tired when he seemed the winner a furlong from home. Jove ran as if he disliked the going. Hist showed speed and was rated carefully so that when Duke of Kendal challenged in the final furlong he had enough left to stall the latter off. Duke of Kendal displayed speed and was at home in the going. He stumbled while going down the backstretch and made a determined bid a furlong from home, but tired and could not get up. Blue Victor lacked speed and disliked the going. Lucky Day bolted at the turn into the backstretch, then made up ground fast, but tired in the stretch and was eased up. No show betting.
