Drummond was- off in the front rank and raced Kingstelle to exhaustion in the first half and although tiring at the end had enough left to stall off a challenge from Alfred C. and Censor. Alfred C. ran well and hung on gamely under punishment. Censor kept bumping him all through the last sixteenth-The. latter moved up fast in the stretch -run, "but-tired-after he caught Alfred C. OHagen tired after seeming dangerous. Boaster was as good as left at the post and Reed did not persevere with him. Kingstelle showed early speed, but tired in the last quarter. Montholon displayed a good turn of speed, raced Claremont to subjection in the first quarter and came away without strong urging in the stretch run. Beneficent was hustled along all the way, was well ridden and had no mishaps. Myron Dale got away all tangled up, then closed a big gap and got up in time to beat out Claremont. Irene Mac was under a drive all through the last quarter. Kelly pulled Betmuda up at the start. Merryflight was turned the other way when the barrier went up.
