The latter ran well and finished resolutely. H O. tired when the pinch came. Fullback closed up ground fast in the final eighthH showed some early speed. Gus Lanka was easily the best at the weights and was never in trouble at any part of the race. Fake began slowly, but closed up gradually after the first quarter had been run and finished going fast. Irene Mac ran to her best form and met with no mishaps. Marlon Lynch came with a rush at the end and would have nipped Irene Mac in another stride or two for third place. Burnie Bunton showed her usual sharp turn of speed and stood off Automatons bid in the last eighth with a little shaking up. The latter was under a hard drive all through the last eighth and finished fast. Chop Suey ran well and finished gamely under keen pressure. Mimo showed much speed, but tired when a furlong out. The race should do him much good. Hattie Walker, all entangled at the start, ran a dull race and tired palpably in the final furlong. Bonnie Lissak finished with a rush. Prince Webb was well spent after turning into the final quarter. Ida "V. ran a fair race and bears watching. Leo Newell ran a dull race and can do better.
