Maggie Leeber showed the most speed and simply ran away from the Held. Lady Free Knight began slowly, but closed up ground fast in the last quarter. She lost ground by swinging wide at the head of the stretch. Lady Fonso made up ground too fast in the first quarter and tired rapidly when the pinch came. Cassie Schuler showed scant speed. Angelo got off flying, tiptoed the field for the entire route, never leaving the result in doubt. Prodigal Son ran an impressive race. He was bumped out of position at the first quarter and fell far back, but closed up ground fast in the final quarter and was running fast at the end. Reeves tired palpably just after turning for home. Uranium showed speed, but was well spent when a furlong out. Hattie Walker got off poorly and made up ground. Won handily; second easily. Haydon showed his usual sharp turn of speed and easily stood off Alces determined bid, in the final eighth. The later ran a good race and was under a hard drive all through the stretch. Frank M. ran a dull race arid can do much better. Pyrrho bled after running five furlongs. Hedge was never conspicuous. Won with the first three driving to the limit. Omdurman won by virtue of Dominicks splendid finish. He was under a hard drive all through the stretch and in the last hundred yards was wedged in between Lingo and Chop Suey. Lingo finished gamely, running next to the inside rail, but could not quite get up. Chop Suey was probably the best and would have won with a stronger ride. Our Bessie displayed keen speed, but tired fast when the pinch came. Fake ran far below expectations. Scratched 3S4253Doeskin, 101. Overweights Our Bessie, 4 pounds. Omdurman, show, out. Shaitan ran Alice Morgan into submission and appeared to be winning easily in the last eighth, but had to be driven out to stall off Lawndale. The latter was cut off slightly when a furlong out, but finished fast when he got clear sailing. Unique finished well and showed improvement. Alice Morgan tired badly just after turning for home. Dutch Carter was easily the best and made a show of the field. Miss Liza was under keen punishment all through the last eighth, but could not close up on the winner. She swerved across Dodie S. in the last sixteenth against the inside rail cutting the latter off. For this she was disqualified, Dodie S. being placed second and Malay third. Dodie S. made up some ground in the final quarter and would have been closer up but for the interference. Malay ran well for about a mile only. Scratched 3839S Prince Webb, 9G.
