Cornwall showed keen speed throughout and after running Delia Ostrand into early submission had things all his own way. Moroni came with a rush at the end. Pyrrho might have been up closer with a stronger ride, Sinclair being of little or , no help to him. Dr Gurnsey finished going fast running next to the inside rail. Gin Spray ran a dull race and was never a serious factor. Old Mike showed a little early speed. There was much bumping and interference at the first turn. He was not called on until well straightened out for home, where he easily passed into the lead winning as his rider pleased. Mimo displayed keen speed and stood a last eighth drive well. Dan McKenna was under punishment all through the final eighth, but faltered just a shade in the closing strides. Rankin showed improvement and is ready to win in mud or soft going. Autumn Leaves was well spent when turning for home. Rolling Boer was knocked out of position at the half mile post by Rankin and had no chance thereafter. He was running well at the time.
