The Wizard was the best of a bad field, shook off Postman and Ouita in the stretch and came home as his rider pleased. Kim came with a rush at the end and secured second place without much effort. Postman went wide when coming into the stretch and came again when straightened out. Ouita ran well to the stretch and then tired. Overweights — The Wizard, 1 pounds. The Wizard, show, 3 to 5. Bird Pond was off well in motion and got the best of the start, set her own pace and had things her own way. Katie Powers saved ground when coming into the stretch and had no trouble in securing second place. Angelee was on the outside all the way and was carried very wide when coming into the stretch. Charley Thompson went to the front at flag fall and was never hard pressed and finished with something left. Johnson was of little assistance to Grand Marais. With a better rider _ she would have been troublesome to the winner, was on the outside all the way and finished _fast on her own courage. Bummer II. weakened In the final drive. Khaki ran into the lead on the turn, but tired when challenged Little Duchess II. was cut off at the turn into the homestretch and came on fast when clear Tho pare was too fast for Bedlam.
