Smith had him under restraint to the half and he ran away from the field when he let him go. Dotty Shute ran an extra good race for her. Ciales went well under the weight, but was a bit high in flesh and short of work. Wellesley and Loca ran good races, coming through a crowded field. Governor Sayres can do better. Getting off behind his field, he was immediately rushed through and, after racing Croix dOr into submission, won as his rider pleased. Croix dOr. ran to his best form. DeReszke displayed improvement, hanging on gamely when put to a drive at the finish. Buccleuth was under keen pressure all the way and ran a good race. Charles Ramsey was held out of it too long. The Way closed up some ground in the stretch and is at his best over a considerable distance of ground. The Wizard was "placed" behind the pacemakers and evidently had all the speed choked out of him. Kings Pet tired badly at the end.
