Winner Ch. f, by Wawekus Suscol trained by F. Bruhns. Went to post at 2:05. At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won easily; second driving. Ice Water, easily best and evidently a superior class filly, indulged Ostrich to the stretch, where she ran past him in a flash, coming away in a canter at the end. Ostrich forced a tremendously fast pace for nearly five furlongs and then stood off Lord Badges strong challenge at the end with superior gameness. This is a coming good colt. Lord Badge found the pace too fast and he was driving early to keep within striking distance, gaining, however, in the long stretch run and would have been third in another stride. Ascension fell away in the early running, then loomed up midway of the stretch, after which she tired bodly. Demurrer showed a lot of speed for five furlongs. Moharib, wearing blinkers for the first time, sulked from the start. Scratched-42311 Duke of Kendal, 126;. 42462 Northern Star, 125; 425122Hello, 110; 42464 Mol- inos, 102. Ice Water, show, 4 to 5. Winner Ch. f, by Flambeau Gretchen trained by H. M. Mason. Went to post at 2:35. At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won driving; second the same. Flammula, after getting away none too well, raced into a good lead in the first sixteenth and kept it up to the finish, displaying high-class form and unexampled gameness in stalling off two such bulldogs as Wotan and Reliance. Wotan quickly ran into a prominent position and, after apparently losing ground on the turn, came again when straightened out for home, but he could never get up in spite of a very game and true effort Reliance, showing unexpected early speed, went after the winner at the start and followed her closely throughout and at the end was wearing Wotan down for second place. He is a coming good one, especially over a long distance of ground. Mineola ran a superior race, yet she can do better. Silverfoot showed sudden improvement and may be useful as he is a good looker. Briarthorpe got away very badly. Hiawatha will make good in a slower class. Scro.tched-42559JOstrich, 114; 42464 Molinos, 110; 4248S2M. Theo, 107; 42536 Jasper, 103. Oarsman raced into a long lead early and won all the way and at the end was only cantering, showed much improvement over his preceding race. Grenade, very badly ridden, was repeatedly taken up in the early running and probably choked into weariness, turned for home in the inside deep going, but finished gamely, outstaying Contusion in a long final i drive The latter ran a fine race and sustained her superior speed unusually well. Young Henry after trailing his field to the stretch, moved up with a brief burst of speed and then fell away again and has evidently trained off. Turpin showed surprising improvement and galloped along in the lead like a good one. He decisively outpaced and outstayed his field and unexpectedly won going away at the end. Race King followed the winner closely throughout and ran a game race at the weights. Dolly Spanker got away poorly and was seriously interfered with in the stretch and, moreover, was handicapped in the deep going, but finished resolutely and stamped himself nearly high class. Tim Payne flies at too high a game and could win races in moderate company. Sweet Gretchen has evidently trained off and could never get up into serious contention. Dimple was evidently outclassed, but at that she did not run as kindly as usual without the customary blinkers. Scratched 42560 Flammula, 113; 42190Monadnock, 112. Overweights Tim Payne, 1 pound. All Gold continues to hold to his present brilliant form and after leisurely trailing the leaders he came along on the outside in the stretch run and ran past them as if they were tied when nis rider got ready. Meistersinger ran a surprisingly gcod race and made good with a fast stretch run. The Guardsman ran an unexpectedly game race and held the lead when a furlong out, tiring in the last few strides. McAVilliams came from a long way back at the end and was going very fast. Faul Clifford went a fast six furlongs before he retired and should soon make good at the distance. Bolina always held a prominent position and finished well. Conundrum got away very badly and had a rough journey with an incompetent rider. Trepan ran a cracking good race, closing up in the stretch run with a tremendous rush. Erbe tired at the end after an early severe effort to overtake the winner and finished an easy third, but ran an extra good race. Grantsdale, away badly, made up a lot of ground.
