Won easilv; second driving Minder waited with Grand Mary until well around the far turn before making his run, went to the front at the turn into the homestretch and came awav without much effort in the last furlong. Olonetz began slowly, but finished very fast and outgamed Rustic Girl in th final drive. Rustic Girl broke away well in motion and showed early speed, but tired as if short. Barkelmore met with much early interference. Kilmorie was well rated and wore the leaders down while rounding the far turn, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Lemco. The latter was crowded back at the first turn and came wide into the homestretch, but finished with a rush and would have won in another stride. Melbourne Eclipse, as usual, began slowly and closed a big gap in the last furlong. It was a bad ride on Leenja and she did not run her race. Blando ran away three miles after the race. Armorer was taken wide when turning for home and he and Sjambok fought it out hard for second place, the former prevailing in the last stride. Sjambok ran a good race and finished gamely. Nettie E. showed improvement. Ruth Parrish showed speed, but tired. Rough and Tumble was practically left at the post. Scratched 12202 Hobsons Choice, 100. The latter began slowly and had to go all around his field to get up, but finished fast. Commodore was in close quarters all the way and was bumped Into at the furlong post by the winner when he attempted to come through on the inside. Jehane ran poorly and can do much better. Fair Lady Anna was pinched off just after the start, but closed a big gap and finished fast. Satchel made up ground and showed improvement. Amorous got into a jam on the backstretch, but came fast at the finish. There was a lot of crowding all through the race and Mary Lavana was practically left. Khaki, show, 3 to 2.
