Corbett was not called on until entering the final quarter, where he assumed command and held the field safe all through the final sixteenth. Frank M. stood a stretch drive sramely and outstayed Atheola in the last sixteenth struggle for second place. The latter finished going fast but could not quite reach. Wilson was too light to give Pronta the strong ride she requires and allowed her to drop too far out of it in the first hall. She made up much ground on the far turn, but had little left to finish with. Fourleaf C. tired slightly in the last sixteenth after running a good race up to this point. Leila was right there all the way, but tired slightly in the closing strides. Badger Girl finished resolutely after making up ground in the final quarter.
