Injustice was accidentally done the Worth Jockey Club in compiling the statistics of its autumn meeting, whereby it was credited with paying out 0,611 to winning owners, whereas the true sum was ?103,S30, the discrepancy coming from the accidental omission of a column of figures that should have been included. This brings the daily average at the Worth autumn meeting up to ,273 and increases the total product of the Chicago field for 1903 to ,225. J. O. Keene, the Kentuckian who spent the past two seasons on the Russian turf, will take jockey Winkfield back to ride on the Russian turf next season. Keene has a contract with Winkfield and will sail for the other side in February. Winkfield will be the second colored "rider to appear on the Russian tracks, Tony Hamilton, an American, being his only predecessor. The crack jockey Lucien Lyne has written home that he will arrive on December 2, to spend the best part of the winter. From present arrangements he will then return to England the last of January or early in February, as the late successes of the stable of his employers, J. R. and F. P. Keene, on the British turf, make it certain there will be no curtailing of the racing operations of the Keenes in England in 1904. Of late Lyne has struck his old winning gait, and, according to his last letter, will return home to spend the holidays in the best of health and spirits.
