King Rose showed the most speed all the way, raced Tax Man and Satchel into submission in the first half and drew away without much effort in the stretch run. Pompino ran a good race, had to go all around his field to get up and finished fast. Barbara Frietchie closed a big gap and finished resolutely. Silk Maid showed a high order of speed, wore Ben Adkins down while rounding the far turn and drew away without great effort in the stretch run. Sanetomo began slowly, but made up a lot of ground and outgamed Ben Adkins in the stretch and was going fast at the end. Ben Adkins was off flying and showed much early speed, but tired when the pinch came. It was a three-horse race all the way. Ethel Wheat was a sharp contender throughout, ran to her best form and finished going away. Loves Labor was hustled along all the way, hung on gamely when the pinch carne and just managed to last long enough to stall off Overhand. The latter ran an excellent race and closed up gamely in the stretch. Flora Bright had a rough trip, was in a pocket and was crowded back in the last, twenty yards. Carl Kahler outbroke his field and showed the most speed for the entire trip, but had to be hustled along at the end to stall off Autumn Leaves and Bardolph. Autumn Leaves ran I well, but had all she could do at the finish to save second place from Bardolph. The latter I was wearing the leaders down at the end and would have been second in another stride. Hayward Hunter trailed along in the rear for more than half the trip, went around his field at the turn into the homestretch and finished fast and gamely. Goo Goo stayed well, was made too much use of while rounding the far turn and tired under pressure. Pathos finished well and outgamed Sailors Dream when it came to the final drive. The latter was in close quarters next to the inside fence in the last twenty yards. Eda Riley was always outrun and can do much batter. Arachne began slowly and made up a lot of ground, but tired after getting to the leader. Naulahka showed the most early speed and set a fast pace, but tired in the stretch. Khaki ran poorly.
