Won easilv; second the same Foxy Kane is in good shape at present, gave away weight to all of his field, closed up gamely in the final furlong under a hand drive and won going awav at the end Alpaca broke fast and forced the pace, but could not quite last. Biserta ran a fair race was lucky to get through next to the rail in the stretch and finished fast. Andrattus had no mishaps and showed speed, but quit in the stretch. Blue and Orange was crowded on the first turn It was a poor race for King Pepper. Won easily; second driving 4rden showed the most speed throughout, but was tiring badly all through the stretch and Blake rode him hard to keep him going. Lady Potentate was carried wide on the first turn by Homestead and practically knocked out of the race, but made up a lot of ground and finished fast. Homestead showed speed, but tired under a drive. Hot ran a fair race for seven furlongs. Scratched 427253Ethics, 106; 42441 Hyland, 103. Corrected weights Homestead, 100. Overweights Hot, 1 pound. No show betting. Dolly Spanker broke well today and was closer up than usual all the wav, was tiring some at the end and Redfern shook him up in the stretch to keep him going. "Grenade liked the soft going, ran a good race and showed speed, but tired in the stretch and was doing his best at the end to stall off St. Valentine. The latter ran under restraint in the first part of the. race, came around the field on the stretch turn and finished fast. Eagle ran a good race for five furlongs, then tired. Juvenal Maxim broke running but quit after going a quarter. Race King made a determined effort when a furlong from home, but tired under a drive. He moved up on the turn into the stretch and bumped Sheriff Bell and Redfern rede Higgins close all the wav and right at the finish Higgins pulled up Hurstbourne, winning by a narrow margin. Higgins claimed foul, but it was not allowed. Sheriff Bell ran a good race, but could not quite last at the pace. Mas-terman was a sharp contender to the final furlong, where he tired. Rob Roy was the best and readily went to the front when straightened out in the stretch. Burns shook him up near the finish but unnecessarily. Redman ran well and stood a long stretch drive to stall off Gold Dome. The latter ran a fair race and was much used in rac- ing with My Ester and hung on well. Sneer, a slow beginner, finished fast. Gold Breaker could not keep up at any stage. My Ester was speedy but plainly short. Scratched 426S8 Ikki, 112; 42714 Prince Salm Salm, 112; 42678 Mr. Pickwick, 109. Won easily; second the same River Pirate improved with a rush when he got weight off, showed plenty of speed and won with a lot in hand. Brigand ran a good race, aided by his light weight, was under a drive in the last quarter to catch the winner, but had no chance. Colonsay was only third because Buttons tired.
