Christine A. wore the leaders down while rounding the far turn, carried Bob Franklin wide at the turn into the homestretch, and outstaying Worthington, won going away. The latter was under a pull for the first Ave furlongs and Watson never made a move with him until he saw Christine A. move up. Commodore was at home in the going, showed the most speed all the way and was never in trouble. Beneficent ran the best race he has shown at the meeting, broke well in motion and was a contender all the way. Armorer swung wide at the turn into the homestretch, finished fast and outgamed War Paint in the stretch drive. The latter tired under a weak finish after showing speed. Don OHigh finished well. Antolee got caught in a jam at the start and was crowded back, then closed a big gap, but tired when the pinch came. Tancred finished fast and would have been second in another stride. Falella came again at the end and outgamed Sea Pirate when it came to the final drive. Sea Pirate showed early speed, but tired. The others were never contenders. Applause began slowly, but saved ground at the turn into the homestretch, where she came through on the inside, finished fast and was going away at the end. Sjambok showed the most early speed, but tired in the stretch. Ruth Parrish came wide at the turn for homo, was bumped into by Sjambok at the sixteenth post and was knocked off her stride. Tufts began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Circus Girl was tiring at the end and was made too much use of in the first part of the race. Nearest was never a factor. Bud Embry ran well to the stretch. Sailors Dream ran poorly. Bud Embry, entered to hs sold for 00, was claimed for 50 by W. P. Reed.
