Satchel was favored by the going and, always a contender, raced Glendon to defeat, name fast in the stretch and won easing up. Easy Trade was off well in motion, ran well and outgamed Christine A. in a short stretch drive. The latter was kicked a couple of times .when at the post, began slowly and closed a big gap and then tired. Glendon showed speed, but tired as if short. Choice also tired. Lida Leib was outrun for the first half and came wide at the turn into the homestretch, but finished fast and was-going away at the end. Katie Powers came fast in the stretch, caught Allista tiring and got up in the last stride for second place. AUista showed the most early speed, but Phillips never made a move on her and put up one of his "sit still" rides when challenged. Domino Whist and Atlas showed early speed. Autumn Leaves raced Bardolph to subjection in the first half and outgamed Orfeo in the final drive. The latter was beaten through a bad ride. Austin rode him all over the track and turned his head loose when it came to a drive. Bardolph tired in the stretch drive. Hobsons Choice made up ground and finished fast. Trovator was ridden hard all through the last quarter and outgamed Langford James at the end. The latter ran in improved form. Mamselle outgamed Kilmorie when it came to the final drive. Ben Howard quit and had no apparent mishaps. It was too dark to distinguish colors or positions on the far turn.
