Tepee was shut off by Ancestor on the turn out of the backstretch and was in a pocket well into the stretch. Queen Belle, nlainly short, showed speed, but was used up in racing with the winner. Trepan, a useful sort of performer, was a contender to the final furlong, where he made a good effort under a drive, but could not get up. Satire showed far more speed than usual of late, but tired in the stretch when hard pressed. McWilliams was in deep going next to the rail all the way and was eased up in the last fifty yards.
