Beau ca ire ran in suddenly improved form, lost ground when turning into the homestretch, but came again and finished fast and gamely. Barney Burk closed a big gap in the last furlong and caught Do Madge tiring. The latter showed improvement, but tired when the pinch came. Nestoria showed speed, but quit in the stretch. Lady Radnor tired after going a half mile. The winner, entered to be sold for 00, was bought by L. Brickett for 50. Scratched 12776 Illuminate, 104; 42610 Radford, 99. Nicol waited with Miss Mollie until rounding the turn into the homestretch before making his move, then came through on the inside and, finishing with a rush, was going away at the end. Miss Fleischmann was much used in racing Melita to defeat and tired and was driving to the limit to stall off Snow Cap. The latter finished fast and would have been second in a few more strides. Chanterelle broke well in motion and opened up a winning lead before the others got to going well, showed the most speed all the way and was never in trouble. Antolee wore Tancred down in the stretch run and outgamed him in a sharp drive. Tancred was well ridden and had no mishaps, but tired when strongly driven.
