Robin Hood improves with each race, broke well and was in a good position to the final eighth, when he closed up fast and was going away at the end. Judith Campbell had no mishaps, ran a good race and was doing her best at the end. Masterman got off running and this advantage enabled him to last long enough to stall off Wager. The latter finished fast. Sabot ran a good race from where she got off. Blue and Orange was crowded at the start and apparently was not persevered with. Gananogue came fast through the stretch, but had to be hard ridden to get to the front and Redfern took no chances with him, riding him out to the end. Belle of Belle Meade is consistent, ran well and finished fast. Belle of Wakefield displayed quick improvement and hung on well under a drive. Algonquin closed a big gap and was gaining fast at the end. Esher Leaf and My Alice were used up in the early racing. Gay Lizzette is a slow beginner. Colleen Bawn and The Bowery received much the best of the start, the former showing the most early speed, but was tiring at the end. The Bowery showed decided improvement. King B. forced the pace throughout, but could not quite last and was laboring and swerving at the finish. Mollie Monopole closed a big gap after getting away poorly. Cottage Maid got away poorly, but made up ground and finished fast. Princess Tulane was shut off on the stretch turn, but came again at the finish. Hoodwink lacked early speed.
