Toto Gratiot, on the outside 4 in the best going, finished fast and seemed to have been caught napping at the end. Oro I Viva ran an extra good race in the deep going. Merwan, away badly, closed a big gap and , but for serious interference on the far turn might have won. Cherries beat the barrier, i i but the going anchored her. Amasa showed improved form. Campbell showed superior speed for over six furlongs, tiring badly in the stretch. Pluck, badly handled and swerving all over the course, should have been third.
