NOTES OF THE TURF. Capt. John Welsh, of Lexington, Ky., has shipped to trainer Frank Jones at New Orleans to be raced during the present meeting the following horses: Prince of Endurance, b. c, 3, by Prince of Monaco Melody; Man-shak, b. c, 2, by Gallantry Pattie; Dr. Loder, b. c, 2, by Free Knight Lillian. H. T. Griffin, whose yearlings have been attracting a great deal of attention since their arrival at New Orleans, has left for Los Angeles, taking the best four of the string wtih him. Jockey E. Walsh accompanied him. Jockey Pollak, who went to New Orleans with John Day from New York, has left for Los Angeles, where he goes to ride for the remainder of the winter. Pollak showed fair form around the Chicago tracks late in the fall. The officials of the California Jockey Club have ruled that Sol Smith is owned by jockey D. Hall, recently ruled off. The entry of the colt will be refused.
