Ocean Dream outclassed the field, quickly took the lead and galloped under restraint all the way, winning pulling up. Dr. Shorb ran a good race and outgamed Dupont at the end and is a fairly good horse. Dupont made up much ground after being badly outrun in the first part of the race. Golden Rule could never get near the front and tired badly when called on. Princess Titania ran a poor race, not near to her true form. Redan showed early speed but tired badly. He showed unexpected speed, however, and finished fast. Canejo ran to his best form, was well handled and went the shortest way. Lemco was badly outrun in the first part of the race, but finished very fast under a weak ride and was best. Schwarzwald made up a lot of ground. Jingler showed plenty of early speed, but quit badly.
