Another promising, three-year-old in winter quarters at Memphis is Major Pelham. He has grown and developed considerably and has the appearance of a real good one." Jockey Cochran "will leave New Orleans early next week for New York. The elder Cochran, together with his family, will accompany the boy. Cochrans mission to New York is to sign a contract to ride In Germany next year George Walker is anxious to have Cochran ride for the stable he has signed to train for, and has made the lad a very flattering offer. If the deal is consummated Cochran will leave for Germany shortly after the holidays. Mrs. Chandler, as guardian of jockey Chandler, is seeking an annulment of the contract held on the boys services by Caesar Young. She alleges that J. L. Haskell, who formerly held the contract and sold the same to Young, is, withholding money due the rider, and the Ingleside stewards have the matter under advisement. A
