Falkland came wide at the turn into the homestretch, finished with a rush, caught the leaders tiring and was only cantering at the end. Falernian finished fast on the extreme outside after losing a lot of ground by going so wide. Short Cake showed a good burst of early speed, but tired when the final drive came. Alcom R. dropped out of it in the first furlong, but saved ground at the turn into the homestretch and was closing up at the end. Spencerian tired. Ora McKinney was eased up in the last fifty yards. Gus Lanka was on the outside in the best going for the entire trip, raced Latuka into submission in the first half and easily drew away in the last sixteenth. Latuka weakened in the run home. Mclntyre took Latuka down on the inside in deep going while rounding the far turn. This caused her to tire and she was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Oclawaha. The latter finished fast and resolutely. Lovable was crowded back at the 5tart, but she did not run her race. Circus Girl ran fairly well. Decoration ran a winning race and closed up fast in the stretch run. This one is worth remembering. Scratched 37889 Preetorius, 108. Gus Lanka, show, 4 to 5. Latuka, show, 6 to 5. Mayor Johnson was at home in the going, rushed to the front when the start came and set the early pace under restraint, swung out to the good going at the turn into the homestretch and had to be hard ridden all of the last furlong. Tioga was under a hr fQirive all of the last quarter and just managed to last long enough to stall off Bard of Avo"The latter finished fast and would have been second in another stride. Sly Boots went up to the leaders on the backstretch, but tired and was eased up in the last sixteenth. Alpaca finished on the inside in the deep going. Witfull broke on the outside and was outrun to the first turn. Fuller then took her up on the extreme outside and wore her field down in the run down the backstretch, caught the leaders tiring in the final quarter and came away with a splendid stretch run. Dan Mc-Kenna was a contender from start to finish, was well ridden and had every advantage and finished resolutely. Little Scout began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished very fast. Big Ben showed a rare turn of speed for the first six furlongs, but failed in the stretch. Exclamation tired after going six furlongs. Sidney Sabath moved up fast while rounding the far turn, but tired when it came to the stretch drive. Adelante disliked the mud, but finished gamely. Badger showed early speed and Minder kept him on the outside in the good going for the entire trip, but he tired when the final drive came. Claristina tired after going a mile. Deboe held the field safe all the way, raced along with Reckoner on the extreme outside for the entire trip, shook off the latter in the final furlong and was going away at the end. Reckoner ran well, but finished in the middle of the track where the going was sticky and holding. Class Leader made up ground and finished fast. Jove ran a good race. Miss Aubrey showed early speed, but tired after going a half. W. J. Deboe, show, 1 to 7. Reckoner, show, 5 to 1. Class Leader, show, 4 to 1.
