Start good. Won easily; second driving. Begone went around the field on the outside and raced Russellton into submission while Tounding the far turn and was well in hand at the finish. Class Leader began slowly, but closed a big gap and outgamed Russellton in the final drive. Russellton got away well in motion and showed early speed, but tired when the hard stretch racing came. Burke Cochran broke from the extreme outside and Garrison allowed him to drop back in the first half, but he made up a lot of ground and finished on the inside in the rough going. This horse ran a fair race and is worth remembering. Scratched 13288 Missile, 114; 43255 Si Ah, 111. Begone, show, out. Class Leader, show, 4 to 5. Russellton, show, evens. Harmakis was crowded back at the start and Pieratt had to pull up, then went around the field at the Xar turn and came away with great ease and was only cantering in the last furlong. Tower began slowly, but made a bold effort at the turn out of the backstretch, then tired after getting to the leaders and had to stand a long, hard drive to stall off Hiawatha. The latter finished in the lumpy going on the inside. Tom ODay tired after going a half. Mammon quit after showing prominently in the first three furlongs. The first three fought it out all of the last sixteenth and Tioga was favored by the going, had the inside and finished resolutely. Josette showed the most speed throughout and only lost in the final stride. Eva Russell was the outside horse of the three and finished fast and gamely. Mrs. Frank Foster was outrun throughout. Big Ben showed the most speed for the entire trip, went to the front while rounding the first turn aiid drew away from his field at the turn into the homestretch, but had to be shaken up ln the last twenty yards. Captain Arnold began slowly, but wore the field down while rounding the far turn and was gaining on the -winner at every stride. Footlights Favorite raced Montebank into submission in the first six furlongs and finished resolutely. Montebank was well ridden and did his best. Cyprienne tired. Dr. Stuckey was evidently short. Floyd K. began slowly and Fuller waited until rounding the turn out of the backstretch before making his run, moved up to Pompino and raced the latter into submission, but had to be hard ridden to stall off Malay. The latter finished fast after going very wide at the turn into the homestretch. Pompino showed speed, but tired when the final drive came. Colonel Tyler could never get up and was outrun all the way. Star and Garter showed early speed, but tired after going a half. Scratched 43220 Aladdin. 121; 43288 Whitmore, 111. Overweights Floyd K., 2 pounds. Malay, show, 4 to 5.. Pompino, show. 7 to 10.
