Otto Stifel was a prominent contender throughout and t ran a cracking good race. Lord w ads worth ran a steady good race. El Oriente won all the way, being skillfully nursed, and lasted out the journey under Burns vigorous finish. Lunar ran in close attendance throughout and was fast wearing the winner down at the end. Jllowaho, suddenly improved and a pronounced in and outer, held a forward position from the start and stayed unexpectedly well in the closing drive. Discus shows steady improvement and, well up in the early running, finished fast and would have been third in another couple of strides. Frank Woods was very sore and as usual came from a long way back at the end. Blessed Damozel got away badly and was frequently pulling up in a pocket. Scratched 13175 Snark, 104; 43235 Plan, 99. Kenllworth, away quickly, maintained a good position close in behind the early pacemakers to the stretch, where he caught them tiring and at the end just got home from Gold Money. The latter was crowded into the fence at the start and, pulling up, was nearly left, closing a tremendous gap, finished like a cyclone and running a remarkable race in every respect. San Nicholas displayed brilliant and enduring speed throughout and but for excessive early use would have won and was only passed by the winner in the last half dozen strides. Joe Lesser steadily improved his position after getting away badly. Dollie Hayman had a rough journey. Mistys Pride went a fast five furlongs before she tired. Card-wellton was lucky, ran into the lead at the half and held his own to the end after the contenders were interfered with and fell on the stretch turn. Oro Viva was crowded and knocked about all around the far turn and ran a game race. Puss in Boots tired right at the end after forcing the early pace and ran in improved form. Step Around finished close up and ran the best race of her life. Brennus favors mud and was a prominent contender to the stretch. Adirondack is best in mud and finished boring out all through the stretch. At post 4 minutes. Start bad. Won driving; second easily. Our Bessie was lucky and skillfully handled, trailed within hailing distance of the leaders to the half, where she commenced to rapidly improve her position and with clear sailing finished with a rush. Namtor, away badly, was sent along from the start and quickly got up into a contending position and when making his final run in the stretch was crossed by the tiring pacemaker and forced to pull up, which cost him the race, as he was fast wearing the winner down at the end. Young Pepper, an improved colt, forced the pace for nearly seven furlongs before he succumbed. Leader, sideways at the start and getting away very badly, was whipped up into prominence on the backstretch and was in close quarters in the inside deep going to the far turn, where he was finally forced out of a good position and closed a big gap afterward.
