GLOAMiNG DIES IN VIRGINIA. New York. February i. -John ;. fvjUanabeeS famous old mare Gloaming, died at Dr. James Kerrs Antrim Stud, at Warrenion. Va.. Sunday. «;io lining, by Sir Ifodred Twilight, was twenty years old. She was bred at Ramlo del Iaso and was lirst raced by Senator George Hearst. Later she passed into the ownership of Mr. FoIlansVe and for several years was one of the most consistent hanaa in training. She raced up to her seventh year and won upward of .1.000. Mr. Iollansbee was much attached to the mare, and although she was not a success in the stud, he never would part with her. She was in foal to Roehampton. the last good horse to carry the Follaiisbee red and black jacket, and her owner was in hojies that she would reproduce her own sterling self as a result of this mating. Mr. rollansbee is at present on his ranch in Mexico.
