A well known horseman said of him: "Well. 1 1 know which horses gel Mill be BMSt conspicuous in the show ring in a few years, and if Spring is 1 put in show Shape I would as soon have his chances " for the blue ribbon at the National Horse Show as ■ any stallion in the country." Alheling. the sire of Spring, has been a success s in the stud and all his get have the flashy good looks of their sire. Alln ling is a Sterling horse, and nothing more is necessary to be said of his male line. Spring, like all the Athelings. was a i good racehorse, winning twenty-one races from l Jiis two year old to his four-year-old form. As I I two-year-old he was unplaced but three times in ■ seventeen starts. Another most important acquisition is the chesinui t horse St. Carolus. by St. Hlaise. out of Carina.
