1 I , . . 1 p EASTERN TRAINERS GETTING READY. Horses Are Beinq Sent Out Daily in Larqe Numbers — Eyes on Frank Gill. New York, February 8.— Trainers are busying themselves for the opening of the racing season and daily a number have their charges under saddle in long conditioning gallops. The boulevard is the favorite exercising ground and during the morning hours there are many horses shown. At Cravesend the track is in firs; class condition for this time of the year sad also a ground that is well patronized. Joe Kelly, who is handling the end of the Rurlew ft ONeill string that did not go south, was. on I and early tmlay with a set of two year -olds. They are all good lookers and the relish with which they went about their tasks gives promise of good races early in the racing year. The McLaughlin lot are also promising youngsters, and they are advancing well in their early preparation. Old Oxford was in company with the babv division, and he is in excellent condition to commence tiie hard drubbing of a seasons training. it is the intention of Jimmy McLaughlin, though to Save tlic good gray until the Cravesend meeting. That will result in his ln-ing sent along slowly for some time. Bager tftnton was on hand with the M. I;. Ilayinan suing, but he was content to give them light shed exerdue. Finn h Wishard arrived home from California Tuesday night. He was greatly benefited by the trip. and though he has no horses at this time, he expects to have a stable together before the spring ! o[ cuing. J. Muir. who has been wintering at Cravesend track, moved Monday to his own stable iu Cravesend avenue. The Stable lias been completely overhauled and is now- one of the most modern at Cravesend. Comedienne, of his string, has improved greatly through the cold monllis. and promises to be a t sprinter of high anslity during the coming season. Frank Cill is one of the three-year-olds that has , at trotted a great deal of attention among the stay- af-honie horsemen, and unless all signs fail, he will 1 be one of the truly good ones when lacing coin- meuces.
