POOLROOMS QUIT BUSINESS. New York. April M, -The Pinker tons have sue eeeded in shutting off the information from the poolrooms s.ยป effectively that it was said pester day that many of the rooms had dased down. The tower back of the track was net usee! at all. while the houses near it were vacant. It was unnecessary to hoist the eaaeaa sereena toelay. The poolroom agents who tried to carry news out of the track between races have thrown up their handfj in dismay, for the reason that the Pinkertons were on the alert and refused to alh w the agents la get back through the entrances. The Jockey Club intends to keep up the e-rusade all season, and if it is as hard to secure the desired information at the other traeks it is said lhat the city roehns will go out of business permanently . Many room keepers are already IxKikiug in the big ring aud in the field.
