WILL TEST THE F0UST LAW. Memphis, Tenn.. April 22. — The case of the officials of the New Memphis Jockey Club, indicted on the allegation that they permitted betting at Montgomery Park April t», when the matinee races were run. will be called for trial, iu the criminal court next Saturday. By way of defense the attorneys for the jockey club will attack the constitutionality of the law making it a misdemeanor lo permit betting on horse races. This question will he decided by the court alone, and no evidence bearing on Ihe actual betting at the matinee races will be ottered b.v Ihe defense. The case will be heard in ample time lo | ermit of au appeal to the supreme court.
