Despite being kicked and having his shoulder cut while at the post Bobbie Kean dashed into the lead at once and setting a fast pace led by a comfortable margin to the stretch, where he was momentarily headed but came agam gamely and outstayed Lotus Eater. The latter ran a fast game race and appeared the winner in the stretch, but tired right at the end. Ormondes Right was sulky and had to lie whipped away from the post but finished witli a rush and gaining on the other two.
