VELOCITY WINS CITY AND SUBURBAN. London. April 2t. — The City ami Suburban Handicap, 0,000, for three year -olds and upward, aliout one mile aud a quarter was run at Epsom today and was won by the Irish horse Velocity, three lengths in front of Mr. Lionel Robinsons Larino. with Colonel Kincaid Smiths Succour third. Mr. J. B. Joels Dean Swift, winner of the City and Suburban last year and favorite for the race today, was one of the ten horses unplaced, as was Mr. C. S. Newtons Slavetrader, which was ridden by Danny Maher. Velocity is a five-year-old bay horse by Speed, out of Ballast, and is owned by Mrs. EL V. Jackson, for whom he has won. including the prize of today, over $.».000 In his career ou the turf. Last year he won six races, among them the Doncaster Cup; the year before two races, one of them the Cambridgeshire Handicap, and as a two-year-old he won one race at Leopardstown iu Ireland, where he was hied by J.
