* COMPLAINT AGAINST AUBUCHON. Buxton Charges That He Caused the Defeat of Ocean Shore by Striking That Horse. Oakland, Cal.. May 15. — An attractive card produced excellent racing at the local track today. The results were also satisfactory from a sitecula-tive standiwint. The weather was first class, the track fast and the usual large attendance was in evidence, but a falling off in the number of layers drawing for position was noticeable. Favorites an I well-backed second choices captured four races. They were Hilo de Oro. Raleigh. George P. McNear and Mistys Pride. The last-named pair of pronounced second favorites were accorded heavy support. In the closing race won by Native Sou in fast time. Buxton, the jockey on Ocean Shore, complained that Aubuchon. who was piloting Fireball, had re-neatedly struck his horse across the face to pre vent his passing the favorite on the last turn, and that these tactics l eat Ocean Shore. The stewards are investigating and Aubuchon, who is a newcomer and a valuable acquisition to the local jockey contingent, will probably l e punished severely. William Murray has been engaged to start at Harry Stovers coming meeting at Butte. Mont. It is reported that the stewards of the California Jockey Club will announce tomorrow the result of their investigation into the recent turf scaiid.il in which jockeys H. Smith and J. Hunter and several bookmakers and their go-betweens are involved. Jockey Appleby is still in a precarious condition. W. Kelly will recover eventually. Roy Offutt has asked for a rehearing, which will be granted. A promising program is offered for tomorrow after noon and witli such speedy horses as Rey Hindoo.
