Sponge Cake hroke fully in motion and, escaping interference, dashed into a long lead and was never seriously menaced at any stage, winning as his rider pleased. Quagga. poorly handled and suffering from interference in the early stages, closed a big gap In the last half and finished with a rush. Druien followed close up for the first three-quarters, but tired in the stretch. Knight of Ivanhoe had no mishaps and ran fairly well. Dele Strome came from a long way hack in the last half. Solly M. showed speed, but quit badly when hard ridden through the stretch. The others were always outpaced and beaten off. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Black Mary began slowly, hat closed a big gap under a hard drive and was going fast at the end. Geneva S. ran fairly well. Lady Goodrich came fast through the stretch after closing a big gap. Fonsoluca tired badly after going a mile and dislikes to go a longer distance. Alcor was prominent all the way and ran a good race. Macbeth had no mishaps and ran fairly well. Belden. poorly handled and suffering from interference, had scant chance and can do much better. Attila was taken back soon after the start and given a listless ride. The latter sliowed much speed and raced Red Thistle into subjection. Lansdown came from a long way back In the stretch and was going gamely at the end. Red Thistle ran in improved form and was prominent throughout. Demo was in close quarters and suffered from interference, but was going faster than the leaders at the end and would have won at a longer distance. Monere was crowded back at the half and ran fairly well. Sagapanak had a rough trip and was eased up through the stretch. The winner was entered for 00: no bid.
