MANY HORSES ARE COUQHING. There are more than 300 horses coughing at the track, most probably brought on by the changeable weather," says the Louisville Courier -Journal. "Among those ailing are some of the best horses quartered at the Downs. There is nothing serious, but the horses cannot be trained, which accounts for a number of those known to be here not starting. A nnmlier of horses do not like the track and have little chance to win at any distance. As the weuther improves the thoroughbreds will improve."
