HAMILTONS FAIR OPENING DAY CARD, Seven Races with Small Fields— Hamilton Derby Will Be the Feature. Il.imilloii. Out.. June ". The Hamilton Jockey Cluli will open its spring BSOetiag of twelve daya with a fair card of seven races, i he feature of which will he the lirst running of the Hamilton Derby. The weather is clear and a fast track is expected. The overnight favorite for the Derby is Kllicott, with Toiireune as I he second choice. The prospective holds in all the races are small. Nearly M0 horses are now stabled at the track and there will be no lack of material for gal racing, but the probabilities arc that the management will have a hard time tilling a Steeplechase every day as is planned. There is a scarcity of jumpers and no more are likely to come here. The last ex-pected consignment of horses arrived on a special train from Toronto tonight. Smith and Perry of Chicago, will be in charge of the N-tting. which will he conducted after the style adopted at Toronto.
