Monterey, much the best, was compelled to go around on the outside, but caught Pentagon oil the far turn, raced him into defeat in a hard drive, then outgamed Dan, MeKenna iu the closing strides. The latter improved his position steadily and ran a game race. Pentagon raced Blumina into defeat in the first half and hail nothing left when challenged, but finished resolutely. Blumina showed early speed, but tired badlv. Joe Fallert ran a good race. The Belle of Brighton showed speed. The winner was entered for S200; no bid. Manzano always held his opponents safe and outjumped and outran them at all stages. Bank Holiday was closest iu pursuit and was easily best of the others. Sam Parmer was a close contender in the early stages, but tired in the final drive. Snowdrift was in forward contention to tlie eleventh jump, where he unseated ills rider. Kilmorie ran out at tlie fifth jump, but went the full course. This was pot St. Lnochs day and he can do much better. Headley was saved from the early pace and moved up resolutely, raced Factotum into exhaustion and had no contention for second place. Factotum ran well, but tired from chasing the winner.
