Scallop was off in front, but was taken back and saved to the stretch, but failed to get up at the cud of a fast final effort. AVihl Star got off poorly, but closed a big gap and finished like a shot. Long Ball was prominent in the early running, but tired in the stretch drive. Rara Avis ran well. Hal closed a big gap. Youthful set the pace fast to the stretch, but failed to stay. James B Brady ran a bad race and can do much hotter. The winner, entered for ,500, was bid up to ,500 and bought in. Cioisteress was given the best of a bad start and, being sent along fast, maintained her advantage to the end and finally won a lucky race. Anneta Lady got off badly, but made up fully fifteen lengths in a great rm-.h through the last half and would have won if off in the front division. Ruby also closed a big gap and was a fast going third. Sister Frances ran a good three-quarters and tired. Zienap ran poorly Kiilaloe was badly cut off on the far turn when moving up and had to be pulled up. La Londe ran well to the stretch, then quit badly. Dolly Spanker regained Ids speed suddenly, was knocked back on the first turn, hut recovered and, closing a big gap steadily, finished with a rush. Red Friar was always prominent and ran a good race, hut tired in the stretch drive. Hyperion II. Is improving and was speedy, hut tired and failed to stay. Bad News and First Mason ran poorly. Moonshine was outclassed here, but can win in slower company. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Confederate ran a good race and came fast through the stretch. Acrobat is much improved and set a fast pace, but tired in the stretch drive. Tommv Waddell and Buttling ran poorly. Easton was always prominent and ran in improving form. Koyal Ben set a fast pace for three-quarters and tired in the stretch drive. Masterson ran well, hut was overweighted. Onatas closed a big Kap. Belfast raced Herodotus into exhaustion and appeared the winner, but was easily vanquished by Blue Book. Vaquero closed an Immense gap and finished with a rush. Helena C. also made up much ground and ran an extra good race. Remiss and Herodotus showed early speed, but tired in the Stretch drive. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid.
